  • Your Instructor

I have been working with computers since way back in 1983. As a teenager, I discovered I had an ability to explain things simply and although it took some time, I eventually incorporated this skill into my work. My web development career started in 1995 and I started teaching online in 2008. These days I love producing online courses that are easy to understand and produce fast results. You'll usually find me staring at some sort of screen, but when I escape, I'm either juggling four kids or taking a hike through the beautiful bushland that surrounds my hometown of Sydney, Australia.

  • Why should I upgrade my template?

If your template is not responsive (i.e. adapts the content to fit the device such as a mobile or tablet) then your visitors are likely to go elsewhere. Also, websites using older templates feel "stale" and can greatly benefit from a makeover.

  • Do I need a new template or a page builder?

Possibly both. Although you can create an entire site using a page builder extension, they're usually best suited to certain types of page content. Start with a new template, then decide if you wish to enhance certain pages using a page builder.

  • Will I learn how to upgrade from an old version of Joomla to the current version?

No - that is a different topic and a much more involved process. This course teaches you how to select, install and configure a new template onto an existing Joomla site.
